CASE CONSULTING
In the aid of our attorney clients, we offer our comprehensive experience as mitigation specialists at all stages of a criminal case. We can confer with you through a list of current cases, prioritized by your most unworkable clients first. We then work with you to develop a strategy for each client, starting with a list of strengths within your case.
That may include creating a to-do list for your mitigation specialist or even finding you a mitigation specialist to work the case.
POST CONVICTION CONSULTING
If you are hired to do an appeal and you see that your client's former attorney did not prepare for punishment, please call me. We understand the process of thoroughly investigating what may not have been done during trial, and documenting what was ignored; plus the new mitigating information to present to the court during an appeal.
We begin by writing an affidavit as a mitigation expert, detailing what evidence was available but perhaps not fully utilized. Ideally, we would help you establish a re-sentencing or retrial.
MITIGATION INVESTIGATION
Our team is committed to providing high-quality investigation services, with an eye towards furnishing information in a format useful to counsel. This includes full research and digestion of records: education, criminal, medical, military, employment, and more. We work hard to identify, locate, and interview relevant persons in a culturally aware manner that produces relevant and reliable information. We are skilled interviewers who can recognize and elicit information about mental health signs and symptoms that may manifest over the client's lifetime.
We interview a variety of witnesses and organize the information for the attorney to deliver to decision-makers (judge, jury or prosecutor).
Here, our goal is to produce a comprehensive trial rundown to help you prepare for an effective punishment hearing or a mitigation package for plea negotiations.
CLIENT INTERVIEWS
As the foundation of our work, building rapport and active listening is paramount to gaining information for an effective defense. We establish trust with your client and allow them to share their life story in their words. A client interview service is a multiple interviews and consultation with the defense attorney.
If your client is out on bond and you need to develop your client’s story and the mitigating circumstances of the crime, we can also interview them, and establish what their mitigation investigation would look like if conducted in full.
CHARACTER WITNESS LETTER ASSISTANCE
We help gather favorable letters from character witnesses covering your client’s life. In all, we offer assistance by interviewing the letter writers and helping them develop a proper outline with an emphasis on clarity of voice and avoiding redundancy.
As we gather and review the letters, we also generate a report indicating the witnesses’ potential strength on the stand. This can be done over the phone or a Zoom call with multiple people attending.
